Magda Guttman passes
It is with profound sadness that I let you know Magda Guttman z”l died on May 1st, aged 98. She was at home in Holon, Israel, her two daughters Chaya and Judith (Ditti) with her. I am heartbroken, but so thankful for the time I spent with her only four weeks ago, when she entertained my publisher Margaret and me, holding her book, shaking her head asking, ‘Why would people want to read about my life?’ Because we care Magda, we care.

Holocaust Memorial Day 2022
Today marks Holocaust Memorial Day around the world. I am, as ever, thinking of the incredible people who have shared their stories with me. Lale, Gita, Livia, Magda, Cibi and their families – your stories have changed my life and the world. To mark this day with you, my wonderful readers, I am finally able to share with you a beautiful new short film I have been working on, The Story of Three Sisters. Last year, four generations gathered in Israel to take part in the wedding of one of Livia’s grandchildren. They also took time to mark the release of Livia, Magda and Cibi’s story, as reimagined in Three Sisters. Three Sisters now available globally
Three Sisters has now published globally with Australia, New Zealand and the United States leading the way in early October, shortly followed by the UK and Ireland in mid-October. The new novel from Heather Morris is based on the incredible true story of the Meller sisters: Livia, Magda and Cibi. When Livia’s son Oded was travelling to Israel he bought an edition of The Tattooist of Auschwitz which he then shared with his ema (mother) on arrival in Israel. Immediately Livia realised she knew the people in the story – she had lived down the road from Gita and had gone to school with her. The family reached out to…

8 million copies of Tattooist of Auschwitz and Cilka’s Journey now sold!
FROM HEATHER: I had the most wonderful phone call with my UK publisher this week who informed me that The Tattooist of Auschwitz and Cilka’s Journey have now together sold over eight million copies worldwide. It is almost impossible to comprehend this and I am just so grateful to every single person who has read and loved my books. Thank you to you all! It was, of course, reading my first novel, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, which lead the family of Livia Ravek to reach out to me and whose story, when I met them, I simply knew I had to tell. I can’t wait to share the story of Cibi, Magda and…
